What is the "back-up procedure" and when will I need it?

To get a tax refund on your shopping, your refund must be approved at departure from a Wevat-supported departure point. To do this, you will need to scan the digital barcode on your refund form at one of the PABLO détaxe kiosk.

This process is electronic and easy - simply scan the barcode straight from the app on your mobile.

However, in the very rare situation that the PABLO détaxe kiosk is not working, you will need to use the back-up procedure to get your refund approved.

What is the back-up procedure?

In the event there is a technical issue with the PABLO détaxe kiosk at your departure point, you will receive an immediate update from Wevat and an email containing:

  • step-by-step instructions on how to complete the back-up procedure; and

  • a Back-up Procedure Refund Form, which will need to be printed and presented to the Customs desk for manual checking.

If the PABLO détaxe kiosk is down but you have not received this email, please contact our customer support team immediately through the in-app chat function.
