Invoice rejected - unclear/incomplete photo

Your photo isn't clear enough to be verified and/or it does not show the whole invoice. Please retake the picture, making sure there is enough light and the entire invoice is in the picture.

Invoice rejected - Not an invoice

You need to upload a photo of a purchase invoice, not a receipt or other document.

Invoice rejected - Not purchased in France

Your photo shows that your purchases were not made in France. Unfortunately, Wevat can only provide VAT refunds for purchases made in France at the moment.

Invoice rejected - Refund form already issued

The VAT on your shopping has already been refunded.

Invoice rejected - Not addressed to Wevat

To get your VAT refund, you need a purchase invoice addressed to Wevat. Usually you will need to request this when you're paying for your items, but if you don't already have one you could try contacting the shop and asking for a purchase invoice to be issued.

Invoice rejected - Purchase amount is too high

As your purchases are high value, we need to complete extra compliance checks before accepting your invoice. Please contact Customer Support using the in-app chat function if you do not receive a message from us within 48 hours.

Invoice rejected - Missing VAT information

Unfortunately, your invoice is missing key information needed for your VAT refund. You could try contacting the shop and asking for a new invoice to be issued with the necessary information.

Invoice rejected - Not eligible: service

You can't get a VAT refund on VAT paid for services (such as accommodation costs, restaurant meals and museum tickets). That's because you're using these services in France, so VAT applies.

Invoice rejected - Not eligible: online

At the moment, Wevat can only provide VAT refunds for purchases made in-store, not online.

Invoice rejected - Not eligible: no tax paid

Your photo shows that your purchases did not include VAT (e.g. they were bought at a duty free shop), so there is no tax to refund to you.

Invoice rejected - Not eligible: licensed goods

There are some goods contained in your purchase that we are unable to refund, as they require a special license to do so or are specifically excluded by French Customs.

Invoice rejected - Refunded/exchanged items

We do not accept invoices that contain returned or exchanged items. Since retailers process returns/exchanges in different ways, we're unable to guarantee that these invoices will satisfy tax refund rules.

If you want to return/exchange an item but still want to claim a VAT refund on the items you're keeping, you'll need to return everything and repurchase to get a new, clean purchase invoice.
